Dwight is a 21st century teen who lives in a suburban town. One day he falls into an ancient, underground chamber and lands lip-to-lip with Gretta, a gothic princess who has been magically sleeping for a thousand years. This awakens Gretta, her court magician, Baldric, as well as scores of medieval villains, and makes Dwight her de facto champion until these villains are defeated.
Opening credits voiceover by Dwight starting with episode 2:
Ok, so about a thousand years ago there was this princess, Gretta, and she was in big trouble because she
has lots of enemies and not a lot of friends.
So court magician Baldric cast the champion spell.
It put everyone in the woods to sleep until a champion could come, break the spell with his kiss, and deal
with Gretta's big scary enemies.
But that guy never showed up. Instead ... aaaaah ... they got me.
Written on stone near sleeping Gretta:
By waking this Princess with your kiss
you agree to perform the office and
function of her Champion until her
hordes of enemies are defeated.
The pilot was filmed in Georgia with the rest of season 1 and all of season 2 produced in Utah. The production for seasons 3 through 5 was done in Georgia. Season five was the final season for the series. Official website: https://www.byutv.org/dwightinshiningarmor
