Series notes

Show type: horror anthology
Show produced: 1988-1992
Nunmber of episodes: 72
Show was syndicated

Monsters came from the same production company that previously created Tales From the Darkside which Monsters bore a strong resemblance to. Monsters was a little more restrictive than its predecessor since each episode needed to have some type of monster. The show did not have a host to introduce or comment on this weeks episode but instead showed a monster family watching a horror story on their television.

Monsters: The Complete Series was released on DVD March 18, 2014 by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. There are 9 DVDs in the box set.

According to the credits the Main Theme and Series Music was available from Silva Screen Records . However I have not been able to find anything about it.

Starting with season 1 episode 3 this was added to the closing credits: This series is dedicated to the memory of Tom Allen. He was creative consultant for both Tales from the Darkside and Monsters. Tom Allen passed away on September 30th, 1988 during production of the first season of Monsters.
