SO THIS IS AFRICA The McKenzies arrive in Africa for a short stay to resolve the affairs of a dead uncle only to discover they have inherited a struggling game preserve and the uncle's last wish was that they stay and run it. THE GREY GHOST Recently settled in their new home in Africa, the McKenzies face their first enormous challenge - capturing a legendary wild rhinosaurus. WHAT PRICE PROGRESS When the government begins construction of a new asphalt road through an ancient tribal burial ground, Jack is dragged into conflict that pits ancient cultures against the march of progress. WEAVERS AND SHAKERS When Jessica discovers that the local African women make beautiful handcrafted cloth, she convinces them to go into business selling it, but it ends up stirring a fevered fight between the women and the traditional family breadwinners - their husbands. NOTHING IS BLACK AND WHITE Jessica is thrilled to learn that a world famous artist is coming to Okavango to paint. But when she discovers the artist is also a hateful racist, her idealized image of him is shattered. IT HAPPENED DOWN BY THE RIVER Two Day's is accused of a murder. But when the McKenzies discover the true killer to be a renegade crocodile, the news comes too late to keep Kyle from wandering right into the crocodile's territory. CRIME AND PUNISHMENT Poachers pose a dangerous threat to Okavango's animals and an even more ominous threat to Jessica when they take her captive. THE HUNGRY THIEF The McKenzies offer shelter to Two Days' cousin whose home was destroyed by poachers but soon discover they are actually harboring a fugitive from the law. FATHERS AND SONS When Jack takes Kyle into the wild to teach him how to hunt, their trip nearly comes to an abrupt, deadly end because of Kyle's trigger-happy attitude. KILL OR BE KILLED When Nealy runs away because she thinks her parents have forgotten her birthday, she becomes the prey of a stalking lion, forcing Jessica into a stand-off where she must choose between her daughter and one of the beautiful animals she's sworn to protect. WHICH DOCTOR When the local witch doctor refuses to let a sick little girl get the medical attention she needs, Jessica kidnaps her to take her to the hospital, only to find that the witch doctor's cures may have been just as effective as her modern medicine. WATER, WATER NOWHERE J.D. bleeds Okavango dry by damming up the river that flows through both properties, forcing the McKenzies into a desperate search to find another source of water before them must abandon Okavango. THE ANGRY CHEETAH A highly vicious cheetah arrives at Okavango and everyone is convinced it will never be friendly enough to return to its zoo -- except Jessica, who climbs into the cheetah's pen to prove them wrong. THE BATTLE OF OKAVANGO When two warring African tribes clash on Okavango property, a desperate Jack intervenes with a long-shot solution to try to prevent bloodshed. NATURE'S NATURE Wild Africa is no place to go off in a huff alone, but Jessica discovers this too late when a cobra bites her miles away from the house on a mountainside only reachable by foot. LIVE FOREVER Saddened, as if losing one of their pets, the McKenzies release their first animal into the wild - and quickly learn that the natural world around them may be beautiful but it's also a hard, harsh place to survive. THE END OF LIFE AS WE KNEW IT Visitors from Los Angeles have the McKenzies feeling homesick until the initial excitement passes and they are vividly reminded why they left phony Los Angeles behind. YOU CAN'T GO HOME AGAIN Poachers are on the loose and Jack and Kyle are quick to take up arms to combat them. But when a horrified Jack suddenly comes face to face with one, he is forced to pull the trigger... and become a killer himself. FALLING IN LOVE AGAIN Jack and Jessica head off on a mini vacation to spend some time alone together. But when their Jeep breaks down in the middle of nowhere, they spend more time together than they figured -- with no food, water or shelter. FALLING IN THE LOVE CANAL Under the McKenzies, Okavango is finally starting to thrive, its natural beauty untouched - until a toxic waste dump moves in only a few miles up the road. THE LEOPARD INCIDENT With Jack temporarily gone, Kyle takes a group of sightseers into the bush only to realize too late that they're actually hunters intent on bagging a rare leopard. BOY SOLDIERS Barely adolescents, two young rebel boys take Okavango hostage while one heals from gunshot wounds, and for the first time they see the love and generosity that comes from being part of a family. JACK GOES TO HOLLYWOOD Jack gets hired as an actor on a tv show filming in Okavango. But when the show's star pulls a stupid move on a hunt putting people and animals in jeopardy, Jack goes head to head with the tv idol. THE ACTING FATHER Out of the blue, Nealy's biological father appears at Okavango, drawing out jealousy from Jack, anger from Jessica and a flood of mixed emotions from Nealy. GUESS WHO'S COMING FOR CHRISTMAS Jessica's prim and proper mother arrives at Christmas and cannot believe the disgusting, rustic conditions under which her daughter lives - until she is the only one who can help midwife the birth of a baby eland and, has come to love Okavango. I'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS For the first time, Jessica's visiting mother seems to be treating Jack with respect, but then she drops a bomb on him - she's dying, and asks him to swear not to tell Jessica the truth. EXTINCT ANIMALS Jack and Jessica trek into a remote jungle, but are stuck with a selfish, conceited companion who nearly destroys their chances of finding their goal - a legendary animal previously thought to be extinct. LENA COMES TO OKAVANGO Because Okavango will receive a much needed grant, the McKenzies have no choice but to accept a new ranch hand - a European socialite who has never worked one good day in her life. KYLE AND KIMBERLY'S PLANE TRIP Using her feminine wiles, J.D.'s daughter, kimberly, tricks Kyle into flying her to see a different boy for the weekend - and nearly pays for it with their lives when his plane goes down in the remote African mountains. MARCO The McKenzies are thrilled when Lena's boyfriend arrives and lures her back with an engagement ring, until they recognize that Lena's making the wrong decision and put aside their differences to help her see the light. CANNED HUNT The McKenzies are horrified to learn that J.D. is going to release an aged lion he acquired from a zoo to be hunted down by some clients, until J.D. offers them a share of the fee - money the McKenzies desperately need or else three new baby elephants may die of starvation. JACK AND J.D. IN THE BUSH The battle between Jack and his neighbor, J.D., has been brewing for a long time and finally comes to a head when an ancient tribal ritual forces the two men to work together to survive alone in the wild. KYLE'S RITES OF MANHOOD When Jack insists on treating Kyle like a little boy, Kyle sets out to prove that he's a man by surviving the death-defying tribal rituals of adulthood. J. D.'S WAR BUDDY The jungles of Africa become the jungles of Vietnam when an old army buddy of J.D.'s leads J. D. on a perilous hunt, and sweeps him back to a time and a war he'd much prefer to forget. SQUATTERS When Okavango opens its doors to a group of homeless refugees, J.D. accuses them of stealing and the McKenzies wind up caught in the middle. GIRAFFE Against Jessica's objections, Jack helps a visiting zookeeper capture a wild giraffe and quickly regrets it when the animal comes down with a potentially deadly disease as a result. KYLE'S TAMBU GIRL Kyle saves a local young woman from a charging elephant and, as a reward, her father insists Kyle accept a precious gift - his daughter's hand in marriage. TWO DAYS WANTS A RAISE Okavango could not run without the leadership of its foreman, Two Days - but that's exactly what it must do when Two Days asks for a raise and the McKenzies are unable to meet his demands. THE KINDNESS OF STRANGERS Kyle is snapped out of a spell of loneliness by the affections of a stray dog, but is devastated when Jessica discovers the dog has a deadly case of sleeping sickness and is a grave danger to all of Okavango's other animals. BEN THE BUG MAN Deeply affected by the death of a pet, Nealy wanders off into deepest Africa where she meets a strange hermit whose unusual tactics help her accept the painful truth. STRIP MINING A huge deposit of coal found on Okavango sparks a digging frenzy which comes to an abrupt end when Lena and Jack are nearly buried alive in a mine collapse. DOCUMENTARY The McKenzies are hired as guides to a television nature program. But when the director and producer come down with malaria, the inexperienced McKenzies must push on to finish the show alone. J.D.'S WIFE When J.D's ex-wife returns to Africa, the McKenzies get dragged into the middle of a fight between J.D. and his ex over the love of their daughter. JACK'S PAST COMES BACK TO HAUNT An ex-convict whom Jack helped put in prison shows up at remote Okavango bent on vengeance. ARCHEOLOGY A remarkable archaelogical find convinces the McKenzies that Okavango sits on top of the remains of the Garden of Eden, until they discover that the dig leader is actually stealing priceless artifacts for the black market. DID J. D. MURDER UNCLE BILL? The McKenzies are startled to learn that the original owner of Okavango, Jessica's uncle, may have been murdered - and all evidence is pointing an accusing finger at J.D. helms. ANIMAL BEHAVIOR Jack proudly brags about convincing a renowned vet to make Okavango a new client, until he discovers that the vet's "special method" is to actually talk to the animals. ENVIRONMENTAL TERRORISTS A radical environmental group kidnaps Jessica and Lena, intent on killing them unless Lena's industrialist father destroys all of his factories. BED AND BREAKFAST For a change of pace, Jessica convinces the family to pitch in and open a bed and breakfast. But when their first guests turn out to be nightmares, she quickly regrets ever having thought of the idea in the first place. QUARANTINE When the entire human population of Okavango is struck down by a terrible flu, a hopeless J.D. is forced to play nursemaid to a house full of very unhappy patients. THE CAMPING TRIP Jack and Kyle secretly follow Jessica and Nealy to safeguard them when they go on a camping trip, but it quickly becomes apparent that the guys are the ones who could really use the protection. SO LONG OKAVANGO When the McKenzies discover tht J.D. has bought up all the land surrounding Okavango, they end up in a battle to keep their property from being confiscated by the government... and spelling an end to Okavango forever.
